The compilation features music from: 22ROCKETS, André Gardeja, Hamza, Sedat Altinok, B.L.O.T., SiD, Vipul Angirish, B.I.S.C.A.T.E. and Markus Schatz, and will be released on Freizeitglauben Berlin. To present some of the artists who have collaborated through our project over the last two years to a world-wide audience, we are very grateful to have the support of partners who believe as firmly as ourselves that a strong commitment towards cultural projects is an investment rather than a mere expense. Our special thanks go out to Goethe Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan, New Delhi and the Berlin Music Commission.

Welcome to the New Sound Tamasha Website

Dear friends and members of the Tamasha family,

We are very pleased to unveil our brand new website to the larger public today.

The Sound Tamasha event series was born when DJ 22Rockets, the first of a growing number of artists who have since then joined the international Sound Tamasha family, came to New Delhi. Determined to promote the exchange of artists from the music scenes of Europe, India, China and other parts of the world the driving spirit of the collaboration experiment is to connect across cultures.

While often electronic music lies at the heart of the Sound Tamasha events, we reach out to creative minds from diverse musical and visual practices. Berlin, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi - these are locations where the Sound Tamasha organises some of the most memorable music experiences.

More than one and a half years of authentic electronic music, more than 40 gigs and the 50th gig soon to come - events on two continents, sometimes simultaneously. We have organised parties at the most vibrant venues, be it Germany or India, but most important for us: we are supported by a crowd of friends - members of the Tamasha family as we think of them - who like our gigs and always come back for more. The Sound Tamasha family and its DJs are working towards putting more diversity into the music scene. We believe that the night is for music lovers and the dancing crowd.

"Tamasha" is the Hindi word for “show” or “spectacle”. For example, in the Indian state of Maharashtra, it is a traditional folk art, incorporating singing and dancing, which is performed by Tamasha artists. In colloquial Hindi, Tamasha is used to refer to a commotion or an activity performed with excitement.

By creating open spaces for all people who want to feel the excitement and the spectacle of a true Tamasha performance, Culture Must is bringing the Tamasha back into the living realm.

Create a scene with us! Tamasha karo!
